Hindustan Zinc Limited, a Vedanta Group company and one of the world’s largest integrated producers of zinc, today announced that it has under taken a series of football clinics and festivals in Rajasthan to spark a footballing revolution and find the best footballing talent in the state.

The Udaipur-headquartered company, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, successfully conducted multiple Football Evaluation Festivals in each of the Community Football Epicentres spread across fourdistricts in Rajasthan.These footballing festivals were held across Agucha (Bhilwara), Chanderiya (Chittorgarh), Dariba (Rajsamand), Debari (Udaipur), Udaipur and Zawar(Udaipur)to spread the message of football in these areas and take the beautiful game to the grassroots.

Over 2000 young footballers displayed great enthusiasm to be a part of these football festivals and clinics, as Hindustan Zinc aims to create awareness among the children and their parents about football. Furthermore, the clinic emphasised upon the importance of football in the overall development of qualities such as their personality and nutrition and helped children develop an affinity towards the game of football.

Hindustan Zinc has partnered with The Football Link, one of India’s premier football organizations with professional expertise in organizing large scale football initiatives for developing grassroots football in the country, to conduct the football festivals.

Hindustan Zinc is attempting to create a footballing ecosystem in the state of Rajasthan and these clinics are the first step towards developing a programme that takes football to the grassroots. The company aims to build a development model to create football talent for Team India in the years to come.
