BCCI hunts for spin coach as Bahutule joins Rajasthan Royals

New Delhi, March 28, 2025.

The hunt for Indian cricket’s next spin bowling architect has begun, as the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru seeks to fill the void left by Sairaj Bahutule’s departure to Rajasthan Royals (RR).

The position, vital for shaping India’s next generation of spin wizards, has remained vacant since Bahutule’s exit earlier this year. The successful candidate will work under cricket legend VVS Laxman, who heads the recently rebranded facility, formerly known as the National Cricket Academy.

“We are looking for someone who can nurture talent across all formats and age groups,” BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia told reporters. “From the senior men’s and women’s teams to our under-15 squads, this role is crucial in maintaining India’s rich spin bowling legacy.”
