An official statement said, “Rajasthan has set a national benchmark in mineral block auctions under the leadership of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. These efforts were recognised at the National Mines Ministers’ Conference in Konark, Odisha, where Rajasthan was awarded the first prize for conducting the highest number of major mineral block auctions in 2023-24.”
The state has implemented several progressive initiatives, including mineral exploration, minor and major mineral block auctions, amnesty schemes, drone surveys, a one-time resolution policy, and the Rajasthan Mineral Policy-2024 and M-Sand policy. These measures have created a favourable investment environment for mining entrepreneurs and operators.
RsIn the last fiscal year, the mining sector generated record revenue of Rs 7,460.48 crore. “During 2023-24, Rajasthan auctioned 31 major mineral blocks, of which 15 were auctioned in the first three months of the current administration through the Central Govt’s portal,” the statement added.
Currently, the mining sector supports approximately 35 Lakh jobs in Rajasthan. The govt’s long-term vision includes increasing the sector’s GDP contribution from 3.4% to 5% by 2029-30 and to 8% by 2046-47. “The implementation of Rajasthan Mineral Policy-2024 and M-Sand Policy-2024 will not only enhance economic growth but also generate significant employment opportunities,” the statement emphasised.
