Rajasthan govt to write to CBSE over Jaipur school’s Holi colour restriction

Jaipur, March 11, 2025.Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar on Tuesday said the state government will write to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to take action against a Jaipur school for allegedly hurting sentiments associated with the Holi festival. St Angela Sophia School in Jaipur issued a message requesting students to refrain from bringing Holi colours to school and said that any student found with colours "may not be allowed to appear for the examination."  However, the school clarified that the restriction was not for celebrating Holi, but for using synthetic and harmful colours during the celebration.   On Sunday, the school circulated a message to parents requesting that the their wards must refrain from from bringing Holi colours to school.  ...

Jaipur, February 26, 2025.Candidates appearing for REET exam in Rajasthan will be able to travel for free in roadways buses for five days, which includes two days before the exam and two days after the exam. To avail the facility, candidates will need to show their admit card, said officials."If a candidate's exam is on Feb 27, they will be able to travel for free from Feb 25 till March 1. If a candidate's exam is on Feb 28, they will be able to avail of the facility between Feb 26 and March 2. Jaipur, February 25, 2025.For the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers 2024 (REET), scheduled for Feb 27-28, 233 examination centres have been set up in Jaipur city where over 2.70 lakh candidates will sit for the exam in three shifts. The nodal officer of the District Examination Conducting Committee, Gopal Singh Shekhawat, said that a control room has been set up in room number 116 of the collectorate for smooth and successful conducting of the exam. The control room will function continuously from 6am on Feb 25 until the examination material leaves Jaipur district for RBSE in Ajmer, after the completion of the examination on Feb 28.
