Jaipur, February 22, 2025.
In a significant political development, Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore has once again been appointed as the state president of the BJP in Rajasthan.
This marks his second term in just seven months, reaffirming the party’s trust in his leadership. The announcement was made in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, former CM Vasundhara Raje, and other senior leaders. During the event, Vasundhara Raje emphasized party unity with the slogan ‘Ekjut, No Guts, Ek Mukh’ (United, no factions and one face)
Election in-charge and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced Rathore’s name. Along with the state president, 25 national council members from the state were also elected, who will be part of the national president’s election process. Earlier on Friday, no other leader had filed a nomination for the position of state president apart from Madan Rathore. As a result, his reappointment was confirmed.
In-charge’s Statement: “Three People Expressed Their Desire to Contest in Rajasthan”. State in-charge Radhamohan Das Aggarwal said, “Three people had expressed their desire to contest in Rajasthan. I sent them to the state office, but when they arrived, they left without filing their nominations.” He further stated that Rajasthan presents a challenge because the BJP is in power in the state.
“Sometimes, it may seem that once the Chief Minister is in place, everything is settled, but that’s not the case. Until every citizen of Rajasthan becomes a BJP supporter and voter, the organization’s work will continue.”
He also mentioned that some opposition MLAs still remain. “There are 11 Congress MPs, but we need to create a Gujarat-like situation in Rajasthan. Out of 10 municipal corporations, we control only 5. We have 10 municipal councils, while 21 are not under our control. In municipal committees, we have 49, whereas Congress has 100. The situation is similar in panchayats, and improving this is our challenge.”
“We need to fight in municipal bodies in such a way that even Delhi acknowledges Rajasthan under Bhajanlal’s leadership. This is our battle. We have a strong organization, a huge number of workers, a proactive Chief Minister, and Vasundhara Raje supporting him.”
