Hyundai India has got a huge share in the Indian car market with innovative design cars with high reliability and competitive price tags. Hyundai would be launching a new model Kona in the near future. The Hyundai Kona design would be based on the Hyundai Elite i20 platform with aggressive styling features and versatile interiors like Creta. The exteriors will have new headlights with daytime running lights, ORVMs with integrated indicators and stylish tail lamps. The interiors will have premium-quality trims, multi-information instrument cluster and advanced infotainment system. The safety features of dual airbags, ABS with EBD and parking assistant system would be featured as a standard.
The Hyundai Kona specifications would be available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol version of Kona is expected to feature a 1.4 L 4-cylinder engine with power of 120 PS, and the diesel version can be expected to be available with 1.4 L and 1.6 L engine versions. The transmission system will have a 6-speed manual gearbox and the 4-speed automatic transmission can be expected in the top variants of the petrol version.
The Hyundai Kona mileage would range at 17 kmpl from the 1.4 L petrol engine version, 20 kmpl from the 1.6 L diesel engine and up to 25 kmpl from the 1.4 L diesel version. The actual mileage could vary depending upon the overall weight of the car, accessories featured and driving conditions.
The performance characteristics of Hyundai Kona would be enhanced with the aerodynamic design of exteriors and impressive performance of the engine. The electronic power steering with a sharp turning circle radius, and the smooth changing of gears would assist for easy steering and handling on congested roads. The Hyundai Kona interiors will have a new multi information display instrument cluster showing instantaneous fuel economy, gear change indicator and the multifunctional steering wheel with audio control buttons. The seats will have premium upholstery with driver seat height adjust feature, and the utility features of cup holders will be provided at the center console and door trims for the convenience of occupants. The comfort features of automatic air conditioning and advanced infotainment system with wide touch screen display with navigation features and smartphone connectivity can be expected in this model.
The Hyundai Kona braking system will have disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, and the top variants will have anti-lock braking system and electronic brake force distribution for effective braking. The safety features of dual front airbags can be expected in all variants, and the side and curtain airbags would be featured in top variants. The seatbelts with pre-tensioners, central locking system, and parking assistant system with audio and visual caution would be featured for safe parking of the vehicle.
