ISIEINDIA,NSDC and Galgotia University steers engineering graduates towards eco-friendly vehicles with India’s first solar car rally

New Delhi, May 2023.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the knowledge and implementation partner of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), collaborated withthe Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) – one ofthe leading organizations in India for EV skill development to organise India’s First Solar Car Rally, ISIE-Electric Solar Vehicle Championship – ESVC3000. The event, which was planned on the theme of the World Solar Challengecovered 350+ km in three days from Galgotias University, Greater Noida.

The solar vehicle championshipcreated awareness and promoted the adoption of electric vehicles, upskilling, road safetyand the use of renewable energy. Over 1500 engineering graduates from more than 25 leading institutions and 18 states were upskilled in the event. The students showcased their self-designed and manufactured solar vehicles in an on-road rally, covering over 350 km in three days, starting from Galgotias University, Greater Noidato Agra.Vidyavardhini College of Engineering (Mumbai), Sinhgad College of Engineering (Pune) and Pimri Chinchwad College of Engineering (Pune) emerged as the winner, runner-up and second runner-up of the challenge respectively.

The opening ceremony for the event was held on 14 April in the presence of Shri. Dhruv Galgotia (CEO, Galgotias University), Mr. Vinod Gupta (President, ISIEINDIA), Prof.Prakash Joshi (Founder and Joint Managing Trustee, MIT Group of Institutions), Dr. K. C.Vora (Emeritus Professor, COEP Technical University), Mr. Praveen Kumar (Sr. HR Officer),Mr. Amit Singh (Customer Success Manager, Altair Engineering), Mr. Akshay Kumar (HeadBusiness Development, E Fill Electric and Charging Solution) and other industry and academicdelegates.

Additionally, the event establisheda significant impact in areas pertaining toelectric vehicles through rally, providing a platform for students across India to learn and improve their skills in new technologies and renewable energy, promotinge-mobility and green energy.
