Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa announced a week-long lockdown in Bengaluru with effect from July 14. The decision was taken following a surge in Covid-19 cases in Karnataka and particularly in Bengaluru.
The lockdown will be in force in Bengaluru urban and Bengaluru rural districts from 8 pm on July 14 to 5 am on July 22.
CM said that there will not be any disruption in essential services such as hospitals, groceries, milk and vegetables and medical stores. “We have taken the lockdown decision to contain the spread of Covid-19, as per the experts advice.
CM appealing people to strictly follow social distancing and mask wearing norms.
