New Delhi, May 28, 2020.

OnePlus Z which has also been called OnePlus 8 Lite, could be an affordable offering we have been waiting after the launch of expensive OnePlus 8 lineup.

Chinese phone maker OnePlus might be preparing to unveil the rumoured OnePlus Z in India as the company’s CEO Pete Lau recently revealed in an interview that it is planning to bring cheap smartphones in India again.

“We can look at it as having a more affordable product offering….but all products that still remain up to the OnePlus standard… and through this enabling more people to have access to OnePlus products,” he said in an interview with Fast Company.

Although Lau did not reveal any details about the upcoming affordable offering, he mentioned there will be “an announcement soon for India.”

Speculations are rife that OnePlus Z could be the cheap phone we have been waiting after the launch of the expensive OnePlus 8 lineup.

It may launch as a lite version to the premium OnePlus 8 smartphone, and take on the likes of other compelling affordable phones like the upcoming Google Pixel 4a and recently launched iPhone SE 2020.

Prolific tipster Max J had recently claimed that OnePlus Z will be launched in July this year, but since there hasn’t been any official confirmation on this, it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
