New Delhi, October 30, 2020.

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week, the PNB organised a Walkathon from the Police Memorial in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Sh. Vijay Kumar Tyagi, CVO, Sh. Vivek Jha, CGM, and Sh. Ram Kumar, Zonal Manager, Delhi of PNB graced the event by their presence. The Walkathon began with a memorable floral tribute to martyrs from the Police.

Nation’s leading public sector bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB) marked the launch of the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW), observed from October 27 to November 2, 2020. The Walkathon aims to encourage the public to own the responsibility to be vigilant and join together to make India a prosperous nation. The Walkathon saw a large-scale participation by the employees of PNB.

Flagging off the Walkathon, Sh. Vijay Kumar Tyagi, Chief Vigilance Officer, PNB, said, “Vigilant India will be a prosperous India when we – as individuals – consciously follow rules and guidelines and keep the utmost discipline in life. Words like vigilance are not jargon, but a guiding spirit that will keep you and the organisation away from pressure and risks. I would like to add that prosperity is the result of a peaceful mind and when you practice and follow rules and discipline in life, you make yourself and the organisation proud.”

Celebrating the VAW, Sh. Ram Kumar, Zonal Head, Delhi highlighted all the initiatives taken by PNB at the PAN India level to ensure there are good practices, transparency, and fairness in the organisation.

Sh. Vivek Jha, CGM of PNB concluded the event with a Vote of Thanks and emphasized to be cautious and alert in our professional and personal lives against all potential risks and create an ecosystem on the terms of honesty and integrity.

On 27th October, the Bank’s entire workforce of over one lakh employees took the Integrity Pledge for systemic improvements as well as to inculcate integrity as a core value. This year the VAW is observed with the theme – ‘Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat’ – which seeks collective caution and alertness against all potential risks – systemic or otherwise.
