Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for the third session of the 16th Rajasthan Assembly, set to begin at 11am on Jan 31. He issued necessary instructions to Assembly officials to ensure smooth proceedings of the session, which will be fully digitised.
Governor Haribhau Bagde will deliver the opening address of the Assembly session. Upon his arrival, he will be welcomed by Devnani, CM Bhajanlal Sharma, parliamentary affairs minister Jogaram Patel and Assembly principal secretary Bharat Bhushan Sharma. A Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) battalion will present a Guard of Honour to the Governor, who will then be escorted to the chamber in a formal procession, said Devnani.
As per the official notification issued on Wednesday for convening the current Assembly’s third session, this session will be fully digitised under National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), said Devnani. As part of the initiative, all responses to questions from MLAs, attention motions, special mentions, assurances, and petitions raised by MLAs will be submitted online by state govt departments through the NeVA application. The Assembly secretariat will send all communications to govt departments digitally via the same platform, he added.
A team led by Assembly principal secretary Bharat Bhushan Sharma has provided online training to officials and staff working in the assembly cells of govt departments. The training focused on using the NeVA application for responding to Assembly queries and operating its various modules.
Devnani said significant progress has been made under the NeVA project to make Assembly proceedings entirely paperless. “Computing devices have been installed on all members’ seats in the Assembly hall. Each seat is now equipped with an iPad, and an e-Learning cum e-Facilitation Centre is under development to train officials and staff in using NeVA modules,” he added.
