Rajasthan badminton team made it to the semi-finals for the first time in the 38th National Games being held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on Thursday.
In the quarterfinals, Rajasthan defeated Arunachal Pradesh to seal their spot in the last-four. In the semis on Friday, Rajasthan will clash with hosts Uttarakhand.
Rajasthan team manager Zakir Hussain told TOI that the team includes India No. 1 shuttler Sanskar Saraswat, Pranay Katta, Manish Phogat, Mohammad Aman, Aryan Tyagi, Vansh Sharma Sharma, Murali Sharma, Jagrat Binani, Jangjit Singh Kajla and Raj Shukla. Yadvendra Singh Shekhawat and Chand Chawat were coaches of the squad.
Rajasthan Badminton Association secretary KK Sharma said Rajasthan players performed well to reach the maiden semis. On this occasion, Union minister and president of RBA Gajendra Singh Shekhawat congratulated the entire team and support staff.
