State govt Sunday announced a week-long celebration to mark Rajasthan Day, which falls on March 30. The celebrations will commence on March 25 and conclude on March 31, featuring a series of events focusing on welfare initiatives for the poor, youth, women, and farmers. In addition to these initiatives, the celebrations will include investment summits, governance programmes, and cultural events.
The events will begin in Barmer on March 25 with a Women’s Conference dedicated to Matru Vandana, attended by Sharma. The following days will see a variety of state-wide programmes, including a farmers’ conference and FPO programme in Bikaner on March 26, the garib and antyodaya welfare programme in Bharatpur on March 27, the good governance ceremony in Bhilwara on March 28, and the youth and employment festival in Kota on March 29.
“On Rajasthan Day, March 30, Jaipur will host a grand cultural programme, followed by the investment summit on March 31, where major economic initiatives will be unveiled,” said Sharma. He highlighted the significance of the celebrations, stating, “Rajasthan is a land of heritage, courage, and progress. Through this week-long celebration, we aim to honour our past while paving the way for a prosperous future. Special initiatives will be launched to uplift every section of society, ensuring that development reaches the grassroots.”
A senior govt official described the event as more than just a celebration. “This is an opportunity to bring meaningful change. Women will receive financial aid under the Ladli Incentive Scheme, induction cooktops, and e-scooters under the Kalibai Bheel Scheme. Farmers will benefit from direct financial transfers, while construction workers and artisans will be given land ownership rights and other essential resources.”
Speaking on employment generation, an official from the youth affairs department remarked, “Thousands of young aspirants will receive appointment letters for govt jobs. We are also launching new skill and youth policies, along with initiatives like the Vishwakarma Yuva Udyami Protsahan Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Shikshit Rajasthan Abhiyan to foster entrepreneurship and education.”
The investment summit on March 31 will mark the commencement of MoU-based investment projects. “This summit will position Rajasthan as a top investment destination,” said an industry department official. “Investors will receive land allotment letters, and the govt will unveil new policies on logistics, data centres, and textiles to boost economic growth.”
