South Africa Clinch 1st ICC Title In 27 Years, Beat Australia In WTC Final
New Delhi, June 14, 2025.South Africa beat Australia by 5 wickets in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final at the home of cricket at Lord's in London on Saturday (June 14). The win ends South Africa's 27-year wait for an ICC title, their last such victory coming in the 1998 Knockout Cup.While Australia were bowled out for 212 after being asked to bat first with Kagiso Rabada picking 5 wickets for 51 runs, the men from the rainbow nation themselves only managed 138 after Pat Cummins' 6/28.In the second innings, Australia managed 207 led by a lower-order push (Mitchell Starc- 58) but it wasn't enough with Aiden Markram's 136 and captain Temba Bavuma's 66 helping South Africa chase down 282 with 5 wickets in hand.
