Tata Power-DDL to organize Special ‘Lok Adalat’ on 9th January

New Delhi, January 09, 2021.

Tata Power-DDL, a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of 7 million in North and North-West Delhi, will be organizing a ‘Special Lok Adalat’ to settle electricity theft cases on 9th January, 2021 from 10AM to 4PM.

The Lok Adalat will be conducted in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) at 2 locations- Tata Power-DDL’s EAC Office, Sector-3, Rohini and at Permanent Lok Adalat, Mata Sundari Lane, Near Bal Bhavan, strictly in adherence with the Covid-19 safety guidelines.

Keeping in mind the safety and convenience, all litigants are advised to register prior to the Lok Adalat by contacting on the number – 9711197571 or the EAC Office, Sector-3, Rohini.

The session will provide Tata Power-DDL consumers/litigants, residing in North and North-West Delhi, a one-time opportunity, for an amicable and on-the-spot settlement of their power theft cases, relating to both Direct Theft (DT) and Meter Tampering (DAE).

Cases that are either pending in any Court of Law or are yet to be filed in any Court of Law will be taken up by the Lok Adalat. Consumers desirous of settling their power theft cases can either attend in person or through their Advocates / Authorised Representatives carrying authorisation letter, photo ID and a copy of their theft bill.

This is the last opportunity being provided to these consumers to settle their power theft cases. In case of a default, the company will be compelled to initiate criminal proceedings against these consumers under the relevant provision of Electricity Act, 2003. Post their ‘settlement orders’, consumers will be required to pay their bills on-the-spot. They can pay through various modes such as Demand Draft, Cheque, Credit Card, Debit Card, Online Payment or Cash.
