New Delhi,June 26, 2020.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Thursday launched an app to facilitate its customers. Through this app, subscribers can subscribe to TV channels of their choice. This app allows customers to choose the channels of their choice and remove the ones they don’t like.
TRAI said in its statement that after fixing new rates for the broadcast service, it has come to the fore that customers are having difficulty in choosing TV channels on their service provider’s web portal or app or in group. Therefore, TRAI decided to develop an app that would provide information from all distribution platform operators (DPOs) in one place.
TRAI said that at present, information on large DTH service providers, multi system operators (MSOs / cable operators) is available on this app. Soon the information of other service providers should also be linked to it. The regulator said that the ‘TV Channel Selector App’ has been developed with the intention of providing transparent and reliable arrangements to TV users.
