Jaipur, April 22,2025.
US Vice President James David (JD) Vance arrived in Jaipur on Sunday night. He is on a four-day visit to the city from 21 to 24 April. Vance is accompanied by his Indian-origin wife Usha and their three children — Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel. After landing at Jaipur Airport, the family went directly to Rambagh Palace Hotel where they will stay during the trip.
Before coming to Jaipur, JD Vance met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence on 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. PM Modi hosted a special dinner for Vance and his family during the visit.
Amer Palace and its surrounding areas have been decorated. Intersections and walls have been covered with decorative cloth. The corridors in the fort area have also been blocked from public movement using barricades draped with white fabric.
Similar cloth barricades have been set up from New Gate to Tripolia Gate, and from Tripolia Gate to Badi Chaupar in the Walled City.
At Badi Chaupar, both the American and Indian flags have been installed together as a symbol of honour. JLN Road has also been beautified with fresh planters and decoration at key junctions.
