Food delivery platform Zomato (Eternal) has shut down its quick delivery service in 15 minutes. This feature was launched just four months ago. It was introduced with heavy advertisement in metro cities like Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
Zomato Quick offered users ready-to-eat food options within 15 minutes in a 2-kilometer radius. Company CEO Deepinder Goyal recently said in an interview that the quick delivery service was facing challenges due to a lack of restaurant partners and the product-market fit (PMF) not being right.
Prior to this, in 2022, Zomato also shut down its 10-minute delivery service called Zomato Instant. It was replaced by Zomato Everyday. However, the Everyday service was later removed from the app as well.
In December 2024, the company’s quick-commerce subsidiary Blinkit launched ‘Bistro’. Through this platform, the company promises to deliver snacks, meals, and beverages in 10 minutes. Prior to this, Zomato’s rival Zepto unveiled Zepto Cafe.
This Zomato app comes after Swigy’s Swigy Bolt and Zepto’s Zepto Cafe in the instant food delivery segment. Currently, all these apps do not sell proper meals, but sell readymade food items and snacks like samosas, sandwiches, coffee, pastries, and other items.
