Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti, also called Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurpurab or Guru Nanak’s Prakash Utsav, commemorates the birth of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak.
Every year, his birthday is commemorated as Guru Nanak Jayanti across the world. In 2024, it will be observed on November 15, Friday, 2024.
On this holy day, believers worship the founder of Sikhism, and the day begins with an ‘Akhand Journey.’
This day serves as a reminder to be kind, demonstrating how good activities and thoughts may bring people closer to God, in which several Gurudwaras recite a 48-hour stanza from the sacred Guru Granth Sahib.
