New Delhi, July 31, 2023.Every year around 600-700 monuments are identified for taking up structural repairs of special nature on the basis of assessment made at field level, the government informed Parliament on Monday.Union Minister for Culture G Kishan Reddy said this in a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha."Every year around 600-700 monuments are identified for taking up structural repairs of special nature on the basis of assessment made at field level. A conservation programme is drawn up after proper identification of items of work and adequate funds provided to carry out the specified works," he said.

Jaipur, July 31, 2023.Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said its consolidated net profit surged over two-fold to Rs 2,525 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30, 2023, riding on the back of robust sales, improved realisation, cost reduction efforts and higher non-operating income.The country's largest carmaker reported a net profit of Rs 1,036 crore in the same period of 2022-23.Total revenue from operations increased to Rs 32,338 crore in the April-June quarter from Rs 26,512 crore in the year-ago period, according to an exchange filing by the company.

New Delhi, July 31, 2023.The rupee depreciated 7 paise to 82.25 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday, tracking a strong American currency and outflow of foreign funds from domestic equity markets.Elevated level of crude prices crossing USD 84 a barrel and subdued sentiment in the domestic equity markets also weighed on the Indian currency, forex traders said.At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened at 82.23, then touched a high of 82.21 against the American currency. It later traded at 82.25, registering a fall of 7 paise over its previous close.
