Vodafone Idea to raise Rs 2,458 cr from Nokia, Ericsson and Networks India

New Delhi, June 14, 2024. After raising Rs 18,000 crore from the market in April this year, Vodafone Idea Ltd on Thursday said its board has approved a preference share issue to mop up Rs 2,458 crore from Nokia Solutions, Networks India Private Ltd and Ericsson India Pvt Ltd. In a regulatory filing, Vodafone Idea said that it will allot 102.7 crore shares aggregating Rs 1,520 crore to Nokia Solutions and Networks India Private Limited, and remaining 63.37 crore shares aggregating Rs 938 crore to Ericsson India Private Limited. The telecom company will issue equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each at an issue price of Rs 14.80 per equity share (including a premium of Rs 4.80 per equity share) to the three entities. Railways adopts automated rainfall monitoring system for bullet train

New Delhi, June 14, 2024. An automated rainfall monitoring system has been adopted to ensure the safe operations of bullet train service, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Friday. "To ensure the safe operations of #BulletTrain services, an automated Rainfall Monitoring System has been adopted. This system will provide real-time data on the rainfall using rain gauges, equipped with advanced instrumentation system," Vaishnaw posted on X. According to the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is constructing the bullet train project corridor, a track maintenance centre will monitor the data generated by a rain gauge installed near the track.

The rupee consolidated in a narrow range and settled for the day lower by 7 paise at 83.55 (provisional) against the US dollar on Thursday even as both the domestic equity benchmark indices touched all-time high levels. Forex traders said rupee was seen resilient against the dollar, even after volatility witnessed in the dollar index, due to CPI data and US Fed's policy decision.
