The state Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday approved a host of policies, including the introduction of "Rajasthan Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill, 2024", aimed at preventing attempts of conversion through inducement or deceit.On becoming a law, courts may declare marriages with the intent of unlawful conversions as invalid. Briefing the media, law minister Jogaram Patel said the bill will be introduced in the next assembly session as there is no specific law in the state at present to stop illegal conversions. 90 drug samples tested in October found not of standard quality

New Delhi, December 01, 2024. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation found 56 drug samples tested in the central drug laboratories in October as not of standard quality (NSQ). Besides, 34 drug samples tested by state drug regulators have also been identified as NSQ, the Union health ministry said on Friday. Three drug samples picked by the Bihar Drugs Control Authority in October have been identified as spurious. They were manufactured by unauthorised and unknown manufacturers, using brand name owned by another company.

Wedding season, rural traction, SUVs drive domestic PV sales of top automakers in November

New Delhi, December 01, 2024. Leading automakers Maruti Suzuki India, Tata Motors and Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Sunday reported growth in their domestic passenger vehicle sales riding on ongoing wedding season demand, continued rural traction and strong offtake of SUVs. On the other hand, newly-listed Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) registered a 2 per cent year-on-year decline in domestic sales to 48,246 units last month as against 49,451 units in the year-ago period. Market leader Maruti Suzuki India posted domestic passenger vehicle (PV) wholesales of 1,41,312 units in November as compared with 1,34,158 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 5 per cent.

GST collection rises by 8.5 pc to Rs 1.82 lakh cr in November 2024

New Delhi, December 01, 2024. Gross GST collections grew 8.5 per cent to over Rs 1.82 lakh crore in November on higher revenues from domestic transactions. The Central GST collection stood at Rs 34,141 crore, State GST at Rs 43,047 crore, Integrated IGST at Rs 91,828 crore and cess at Rs 13,253 crore, according to government data released on Sunday. The total gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue grew 8.5 per cent to over Rs 1.82 lakh crore in November as compared to Rs 1.68 lakh crore in the same month a year ago, it said.
