The 7th Rajasthan Rang Mahotsav (Rajrangam) will be organised at JKK from Jan 2 to Jan 6. This festival is being held under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, and Actors Theatre in Rajasthan. Festival director Chandradeep Hada told TOI that over 150 artists will participate in this event, showcasing five theatrical performances. The festival will commence on Jan 2 at 6:30pm in the Rangayan Auditorium with the play ‘Kalpurush: Krantikari Veer Savarkar’, directed by Chandradeep Hada and written by Jayvardhan. The play highlights the life journey of Veer Savarkar.
On Jan 3, ‘Enemy of the People’, based on a story by Henrik Ibsen and directed by Yogendra Singh, will be performed. It portrays how an honest individual is turned into a public enemy. On Jan 4, ‘Chitrangada’, based on Rabindranath Tagore’s story, will be staged whose director is Sanket Jain. It is based on the love story of Arjun and Chitrangada from Mahabharata era. On Jan 5, Sunita Tiwari Nagpal will direct ‘Peela Scooter Wala Aadmi’, a play about various aspects of an ordinary man’s life. The same day, a national seminar on ‘Indian Art, Culture, and Disaster Management’ will be held. The festival will conclude on Jan 6 with the play ‘Chitralekha’, directed by Dheeraj Bhatnagar and centered around a renowned dancer from Pataliputra.
