Raj govt raises marriage aid to Rs 75,000

The state govt Wednesday increased the marriage assistance amount under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Market Labour Welfare Scheme to Rs 75,000 per wedding.

With chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma approving this enhancement, licenced labourers can now avail Rs 75,000 as marriage assistance for two daughters, marking an increase of Rs 25,000 from the previous amount.

This approval is part of the budget announcement for 2025-26.

In addition, the chief minister issued administrative and financial approval for more than Rs 8.47 crore for electrical, repair, and new construction works at the Hanumangarh town Agricultural Produce Market Committee’s market yard.

With this decision by Sharma, construction of covering sheds to protect agricultural commodities from rainwater, installation of floodlights, CCTV cameras, and other works will be carried out at the market yard of the Hanumangarh town Agricultural Produce Market Committee. Additionally, construction work for farmer rest houses and labour rest houses will also be undertaken.

An official statement issued by the CMO said that these efforts will strengthen the infrastructure in the market premises and enhance facilities for farmers and labourers.
