China switches on the world’s first 10G broadband network

New Delhi, April 22, 2025.

While most of us are still waiting for our videos to load or cloud games to stop lagging, China just quietly flipped the switch on something game-changing—the world’s first 10G broadband network.

Built by tech giant Huawei and telecom provider China Unicom, this new network in Sunan County, Hebei Province, is made to provide faster and more reliable internet services. We’re talking real-world download speeds close to 9.8 Gbps and latency so low it’s practically unnoticeable.
