Team India tops T20I & ODI ratings:Australia No.1 in Tests; ICC releases annual men’s cricket rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the men’s cricket team annual rankings on Monday (May 5). In this, India maintained its top position in ODIs and T20Is. In the Test format, the Indian team slipped one position to fourth place while Australia remain at the first position in this ranking.

The annual ranking update in 2025 takes 100 per cent of all matches played from May 2024 until now and 50 per cent points from matches played in the previous two years. In Test rankings, England jumped 2 positions. The Three Lions are now at second place.

In ODI rankings, 2023 World Cup finalist India has increased their rating from 122 to 124 due to their strong performance in the ICC Trophy. In second place is Champions Trophy 2025 runner-up New Zealand, who have overtaken Australia.

.Sri Lanka, who performed brilliantly on domestic grounds in recent months, are in fourth place after gaining five rating points. Pakistan are fifth and South Africa (with a loss of 4 points) are in sixth place.
