Medical Representatives not to be allowed to meet doctors in government hospitals

New Delhi, June 04, 2025.

 The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has directed that no medical representatives (MRs)will be allowed entry in the Central government hospitals.

The DGHS under the Health Ministry has strictly banned the entry of MRs. The directive was issued on May 28 and has been sent to Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College and its associated hospitals all in Delhi.

Additionally, the Rural Health Training Centre has also been issued the directive of not to allow the medical representatives. This directive is aimed at maintaining the professionalism in hospitals and avoiding undue influence on doctors.

The MRs are the representatives of pharmaceutical companies who promote their medicines and new launches to the doctors. They share samples of new drugs or products to the doctors.
