The nation is currently facing record-breaking heat with many parts of India being hit by prolonged periods of dangerous affects of heat. Temperature in many parts of India has crossed 40’C. The IMD has issued alerts, warning that the situation may worsen in the coming days.
While extreme heat or heatwaves are not a new threat, climate change certainly is making more frequent, intense and longer-lasting impact on health. So much so, that it also effects mental health. An Australian study warns, linking rising temperatures to a growing burden of mental and behavioural disorders.
