Archery World Cup, Shanghai: Indian trio of Dhiraj, Pravin, Tarundeep win gold

New Delhi, April 29, 2024.As the trio of Indian archers Tarundeep Rai, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Pravin Jadhav completed the 5-1 (57-57, 57-55, 55-53) win over the renowned South Koreans to claim the World Cup Stage I title in Shanghai, the Indians hugged each other and signalled a victory sign to the coaching contingent in the stands. Big names like Lee Wooseok, and two-time Olympic gold medallists Kim Je Deok and Kim Woojin had been taken down.The win was India’s maiden win over archery powerhouse Korea in the men’s team event at world level. It also meant that an Indian men’s Recurve team emerged champions for the first time at any Archery World Cup since 2010, when Rai along with Rahul Banerjee and Jayanta Talukdar had defeated Japan in the final in Shanghai.

New Delhi, April 29, 2024.The Reserve Bank of India has proposed that banks and non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) should ensure that their loan service providers (LSPs) to provide a digital view of all the loan offers available to the borrower from all the willing lenders that the LSP has arrangements.The digital view, the RBI said, should include the name of the bank of the NBFC extending the loan, the amount and tenor of loan, the annual percentage rate and other key terms and conditions in a way that enables the borrower to make a fair comparison between various offers.The RBI set these terms in the draft guidelines for the regulatory framework for the aggregation of loan products by lending service providers (LSP) in order to enhance transparency and enable borrowers t...

New Delhi, April 26, 2024.The world's largest tractor manufacturer by volume, Mahindra Tractors, has achieved the cumulative sales milestone of 40 lakh units, including domestic sales and exports.The milestone unit model, a Yuvo Tech Plus, was rolled out from Mahindra's Zaheerabad plant, which is the company's youngest tractor facility and a global production hub for Mahindra tractors.Mahindra launched its maiden tractor in 1963 in partnership with the USA-based International Harvester. Payment frauds rise by 70.64% to Rs 2,604 crore in October-March period

New Delhi, April 26, 2024.Payment frauds are rising sharply if the data from the Reserve Bank of India is any indication. Domestic payment frauds jumped by 70.64 per cent to Rs 2,604 crore during the six-month period ended March 2024 from Rs 1,526 crore in the same period of last year.The volume of frauds also rose to 15.51 lakh during the March 2024 period from 11.5 lakh in the previous six-month period, RBI data shows.While the RBI has considered only domestic financial transactions, the new format captures e-commerce transactions — transactions using FASTags, digital bill payments and card-to-card transfer through ATMs, etc. However, failed transactions, chargebacks, reversals, expired cards/ wallets, are excluded.
