Automobile retail sales up 9 pc in April-June: FADA

New Delhi, July 15, 2024. Automobile retail sales increased 9 per cent year-on-year in June quarter FY25 with all segments, barring tractors, reporting growth, dealers' body FADA said on Monday. Overall retail sales rose to 61,91,225 units in the April-June period from 56,59,060 units in the same quarter of FY24. Passenger vehicle retails increased 2.53 per cent to 9,20,047 units as against 8,97,361 units a year ago.

BMW recalling more than 390,000 vehicles due to airbag inflator issue

New Delhi, July 2024. BMW of North America is recalling more than 390,000 vehicles in the US because they are equipped with airbag inflators that can explode, leading to a potentially serious injury or death. The original steering wheel may have been replaced with a sport or M-sport steering wheel equipped with a Takata inflator, the agency said. If the inflator explodes, it may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants of a vehicle, resulting in serious injury or death, the NHTSA said.

Tata Motors Group global whole sales at 3,29,847 in Q1 FY25

Mumbai, July 08, 2024. The Tata Motors Group global wholesales in Q1 FY25, including Jaguar Land Rover**were at 3,29,847 nos., higher by 2%, as compared to Q1 FY24. Global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in Q1 FY25 were at 93,410 nos., higher by 6%, over Q1 FY24.  Global wholesales of Tata Motorspassenger vehicles* in Q1 FY25 were at 138,682nos., lower by 1% as compared to Q1 FY24.  Global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover** were 97,755 vehicles, higher by 5%.Jaguar whole sales for the quarter were 8,227 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the quarter were 89,528 vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity edition launched at Rs 7.29 lakh

New Delhi, June 21, 2024. Maruti Suzuki India has introduced the Fronx Velocity edition at a starting price of Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This price is for a limited period. The Fronx was launched in India in April 2023. It ended FY24 with wholesales of 134,735 units in the domestic market. The Fronx is the fastest vehicle to reach volumes of 100,000 units taking just 10 months to reach the milestone. The Fronx has a couple of engine options -- 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol (89.73PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque) and 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol (100.06PS of maximum power and 147.6Nm of peak torque).
