BJP wave on Civil Lines Jaipur seat

Jaipur, November 17, 2023.

The political temperature in Civil Lines, the ‘high voltage’ seat of Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur, has become ‘high’. The ruling party of the state, Congress, has fielded Cabinet Minister Pratap Khachariyawas from here. At the same time, BJP has made clean image candidate Gopal Sharma as its candidate to make it a battle of tainted versus honest.

Sandeep Meena, resident of Sodala, Civil Lines, said that BJP has given ticket from here to senior journalist and social worker Gopal Sharma, who has no stain on him. Whereas the image of the Congress candidate from here is that of a corrupt, loud and domineering leader among the people, due to which he is having to suffer losses. According to Mohammad Akhlaq Ansari, who lives in Kataria Colony, Congress candidate Khachariyawas has done a lot of work in his area while being the cabinet minister, however, broken roads, huge potholes and heaps of filth still remain the same in his area. Has happened.

Pratap Rathore, a political analyst who closely knows the politics of Rajasthan, says, “This time a wave of BJP is visible in the Civil Lines Assembly. BJP has made a Brahmin face its candidate from here. Civil Lines has the highest number of Brahmin voters and With a large urban population, BJP’s Brahmin candidate Gopal Sharma seems to be benefiting from the ‘anti-incumbency’ wave in Rajasthan.

Senior journalist Ram Singh Shekhawat considers the scams that took place in Pratap Khachariyawas’s department when he was the Transport Minister and Food and Supplies Minister in the Congress government as a noose around his neck. In civil lines, stories of hooliganism and criminal history of him and his relatives have also become a cause of concern for the Congress candidate. According to Shekhawat, Congress will soon have to find a way to win public trust, which does not seem easy at the moment.
