Oil India to invest Rs 25,000 crore for net zero emissions by 2040

New Delhi, September 17, 2024. State-owned Oil India Ltd plans to invest Rs 25,000 crore in clean energy projects to help achieve the net zero carbon emission goal by 2040, its chairman Ranjit Rath said on Saturday. OIL’s net zero plan includes a combination of cutting down the flaring of gas and commercialisation of stranded gas as well as setting up renewable electricity generation capacity, building green hydrogen plants and constructing biogas and ethanol plants. The net zero plans will go alongside its target to raise crude oil and natural gas production to 9 million tonnes of oil and oil equivalent gas by 2025-26 from 6.5 million tonnes produced in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024. Pralhad Joshi says Rs 32.45 lakh crore finance pledged for renewables sector

New Delhi, September 17, 2024. Union New & Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday urged investors to invest in India saying that Rs 32.45 lakh crore finance in green projects has been committed by banks and financial institutions. Addressing the inaugural session of the 4th RE-INVEST 2024, Joshi said, “we have received overwhelming commitments from the states and UTs as well as from developers, manufacturers and financial institutions to support our goal of 500 GW by 2030.” He informed that developers have committed an additional 570 GW of capacity addition. The manufacturers have committed additional manufacturing capacities of 340 GW in solar modules, 240 GW in solar cells, 22 GW in wind turbines and 10 GW in electrolysers, he said.

Bajaj Housing lists at 114% premium, market cap at Rs 1.37 lakh crore

New Delhi, September 17, 2024. Bajaj Housing Finance shares listed at Rs 150 on the stock exchanges on Monday, with a 114 per cent premium over the IPO price of Rs 70. The stock climbed further to hit the upper circuit at Rs 164.99 and closed at that level during the day. The company’s market capitalisation on the listing day was Rs 137,406 crore, according to the BSE data. This is the fourth finance company from the Bajaj stable to be listed on the exchanges. Bajaj Finance has a market capitalisation of Rs 4.54 lakh crore, Bajaj Finserv Rs 2.96 lakh crore and Bajaj Holdings and Investment Rs 1.16 lakh crore.
