Nutritionist Dr. Nidhi Shukla Pandey shares few points to be taken into consideration while making sweets-
- Try to reduce the portion size of every piece.
- Use alternative sugar options, like jaggery powder and Mishri powder
- Adding raisins can enhance natural sweetness while boosting nutritional value
- When cooking use less quantity of ghee so it won’t become rancid
- Make sweets in smaller batches more frequently rather than making large quantities at once.
1.Nutrient-rich seed mix Barfi
Seeds-mix Barfi is considered the most nutrient-rich sweet. For making this sweet, you can add more amount of raisins, cranberry and blueberry or dates along with pumpkin, sunflower, sesame and chia seeds.
This antioxidant-packed sweet provides natural energy and satisfies sweet cravings healthfully.
2. Protein-rich Besan Ladoo
This is another good option as you can make this in good quality ghee, offering a perfect balance of nutrition and taste. You can add roasted almonds to it as well.
3. Coconut Barfi
Coconut barfi can be prepared with desiccated coconut or prasad coconut, which rich in essential fatty acids. This is very beneficial for skin and hair health. You can mix coconut with mawa, this will give natural sweetness to it.
