Cold wave conditions persisted across Rajasthan on Monday, with Mount Abu recording the state’s lowest temperature at 9°C in the hills, and Fatehpur being the coldest in the plains at 9.2°C, according to the Met department.
The Met office attributed the dip in temperatures to active northerly winds and an upper air cyclonic circulation, warning that the cold wave is likely to intensify in the coming days.
Jaipur experienced its coldest morning of the season, with the minimum temperature dropping to 14°C. Chilly winds prevailed during the day as the maximum temperature settled at 28.2°C. The weather shift since Saturday prompted residents, especially morning walkers, to don winter clothing during early hours.
Most parts of the state recorded minimum temperatures below 15°C, except Jaisalmer (16.2°C) and Barmer (17.4°C). TNN
