The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) has uncovered a massive GST evasion of ₹700 crore during raids at 15 locations of scrap dealers across Rajasthan. The Jaipur Zonal Unit of DGGI carried out operations in Jaipur, Sikar, Udaipur, and Bhilwara, exposing large-scale tax fraud.
During the raids, documents were seized related to the supply of 13 lakh tons of goods, with a total market value estimated at ₹4,000 crore.
Investigations revealed that these transactions were carried out without proper GST compliance, leading to a staggering tax evasion of ₹700 crore. As a result, seven individuals have been arrested from different locations.
According to officials, certain firms manufacturing iron goods were selling products without paying GST. Acting on intelligence, the DGGI team conducted a covert investigation, identifying factories, warehouses, and storage units involved in the malpractice.
A coordinated crackdown led to seven arrests, including Ghasilal Chaudhary from Jaipur, Kesardev Sharma from Sikar, and three scrap dealers from Udaipur and Bhilwara, along with two individuals aiding in transportation.
