Disney+ Hotstar renews ‘Taaza Khabar’ for a second season

Mumbai, April 05, 2024.  Comedian and writer Bhuvan Bam is back with another season of Disney+Hotstar series "Taaza Khabar". Bam, 30, featured in the first season of the series, which released in January of the last year and comprised of six episodes in total. He portrayed the role of Vasya, a sanitation worker who comes across magical powers. Directed by Himank Gaur and produced by Rohit Raj and Bam, the show is written by Hussain and Abbas Dalal. Shriya Pilgaonkar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Deven Bhojani, Shilpa Shukla, Prathmesh Parab and Nitya Mathur round off the cast.

Mumbai International Film Festival’s Doc Film Bazaar Submission Deadline Extended till April 10

New Delhi, April 2024. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced the extension of the submission dates of projects for the first-ever Doc Film Bazaar which is being organised alongside the 18th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF). The deadline, which was earlier March 31, 2024, has been extended to April 10, 2024 for the ease of submission of projects by filmmakers working in geographically remote areas of the country. Netflix announces series on 1999 Kandahar hijack,

New Delhi, February 29, 2024. The December 24, 1999 hijack of the Indian Airlines flight is getting a series treatment at Netflix with Anubhav Sinha attached as creator and director. The show is titled "IC 814: The Kandhar Hijack" and stars Vijay Varma, Patralekha, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Amrita Puri, and Anupam Tripathi. According to the makers, the series revolves around "the 24th December 1999 hijacking of the Indian Airlines flight IC 814 which was en route from Kathmandu to New Delhi. It was taken to Kandahar.
