The first Maavath of this season took place in Rajasthan. The rains that started late night in the districts of Jaipur, Bharatpur and Kota divisions continued intermittently till morning. There was light rain in Jaipur after around 2 o’clock in the night. After the rain, people got some respite from the freezing cold.
Today Chittorgarh, Baran and Dholpur received rainfall ranging from 1 to 6 mm. It rained with heavy thunder and lightning in Chittorgarh late last night.
More than 6 mm rainfall occurred at many places between Kota and Baran. It rained lightly at some places in Sawai Madhopur this morning. Farmers doing Rabi crops benefited from the rain.
Today there is orange alert of rain for Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Pratapgarh, Kota, Karauli, Jhalawar, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Dausa, Chittorgarh, Bundi, Bharatpur, Baran and Banswara districts.
