India records 412 fresh COVID-19 cases

New Delhi, December 26, 2023.  India has recorded 412 fresh cases of COVID-19, while the number of active cases of the infection has gone up to 4,170, the health ministry said on Tuesday. The death toll due to the viral disease was recorded at 5,33,337 with three new fatalities reported from Karnataka in a span of 24 hours, according to the ministry's data updated at 8 am.

Jaipur, December 26, 2023. Private hospital operators in the state have almost stopped providing cashless treatment to patients under RGHS and Chiranjeevi Yojana. MoUs have been signed with about 1200 private hospitals in the state for cashless treatment under RGHS and Chiranjeevi Yojana. In the capital, 250-300 private hospitals are associated with RGHS and 600-700 private hospitals are associated with Chiranjeevi Yojana for the treatment of government employees and pensioners. New Delhi, December 25, 2023.  Sixty-three cases of COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 were reported in the country till Sunday, including 34 detected in Goa, official sources said on Monday.Nine cases have been detected from Maharashtra, eight from Karnataka, six from Kerala, four from Tamil Nadu and two from Telangana, they added.NITI Aayog member (Health) Dr V K Paul said last week that the scientific community in India is closely investigating the new Covid sub-variant and stressed the need for states to ramp up testing and strengthen their surveillance systems.

Kerala, December 22, 2023.  Kerala reported 265 fresh COVID-19 infections and one death due to the disease in the last 24 hours, according to data on the Union Health Ministry website on Friday. Of the 328 coronavirus infections reported nationwide till 8 am today, 265 were from Kerala, taking the active cases in the state to 2,606, as per the website. With one death reported in the state, the total number of people who have died due to coronavirus in Kerala since its outbreak three years ago reached 72,060.

New Delhi, November 28, 2023. India has logged 22 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases have been recorded at 257, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday. Exposure to polluted air is associated with an increased risk of type-2 diabetes, according to a first study of its kind in India published in the BMJ Open Diabetes Research and Care journal.
