Heatwave alert in 23 districts by April 8:Barmer hottest at 42.7°C; Jaipur sees 3°C rise above average as heat intensifies across Rajasthan

Heat will start intensifying in Rajasthan from today. There is a possibility of heatwave conditions and intense heat in more than half of the state’s districts over the next three-four days. In view of this, heatwave conditions are likely in two districts today, which will continue till April 8.

A heatwave alert has been issued for 23 districts on April 8. During this period, temperatures in western Rajasthan districts are expected to reach up to 44 degrees Celsius.

According to weather experts, heat will suddenly intensify due to the formation of an anti-cyclone at the Pakistan-Rajasthan border and increased influence of westerly winds due to its effect. The state also experienced intense heat throughout yesterday.

Barmer was the hottest, intense heat in 6 districts

The maximum day temperature was recorded at 40 degrees Celsius or above in Jalore, Jodhpur, Barmer, Chittorgarh, Kota and Vanasthali (Tonk) areas. Yesterday, the highest temperature was recorded in Barmer district, where it reached 42.7 degrees Celsius. Heatwave conditions also prevailed during the day in Barmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, and Jodhpur areas yesterday.

Temperature in Jaipur rises 3 degrees above average

Yesterday, the capital Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees Celsius above the average temperature here. In Jaipur, the sun was intense after 10 AM and the heat remained strong until late evening.

After sunset in the evening, there was a slight coolness, which gave people some relief from the heat. Besides Jaipur, Churu and Dholpur also recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius yesterday.

Yellow alert for these districts

The Meteorological Center Jaipur has issued a yellow alert for Barmer and Jaisalmer districts, indicating the possibility of a heatwave. There is a yellow alert for heatwave in 8 districts on April 6, 19 districts on April 7, and 23 districts on April 8.
