Human coronavirus HKU1 detected in India:Cold-cough, body ache are common symptoms

After the attack of coronavirus (COVID-19), fourth human coronavirus HKU1 (HCoV-HKU1) case has been reported in Kolkata. A 45-year-old woman from Garia, Kolkata, has been diagnosed with this respiratory infection. She has been experiencing symptoms for approximately two weeks, while her condition remains stable.

According to a study published in National Library of Medicine, the coronaviruses are single-stranded RNA viruses found in humans and a wide variety of animals. In humans, coronaviruses are mainly causes of respiratory tract infections, whereas in animals, they can cause respiratory, enteric, hepatic and neurological diseases of varying severity.
