Jaffar Express train hijacked in Pakistan, 6 soldiers killed

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express on Tuesday, taking 120 passengers hostage while the train was en route from Quetta to Peshawar. According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, heavy firing occurred between Pehro Kunri and Gadlar, resulting in the death of six soldiers.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and security forces have been deployed to the area. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for hijack, stating that its fighters seized the Express train and took 120 passengers hostage on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Controller Railways Muhammad Kashif stated that the nine-coach train carried approximately 500 passengers. The militant group has issued a warning that if any military action is taken against them, they will execute the hostages.

The Balochistan government has declared an emergency at Sibi hospital, with ambulances and security forces dispatched to the site. “The railway department has sent additional trains for rescue operations,” a government statement added.
