Jaipur to build 2 elevated roads for ₹195 crore cost

Jaipur, February 18, 2025.

Preparations are being made to build two new elevated roads in Jaipur. One elevated road will be constructed between Malviya Nagar and Jagatpura. The second is planned to be built between Jhotwara ROB and Dadi Ka Phatak ROB.

There is also a plan to construct a flyover on JLN Road and road overbridges for two-wheeler riders at two different locations in Jaipur city.

According to sources, a draft to start development work in Jaipur district in the upcoming financial year (2025-26) was presented before CM Bhajanlal Sharma two days ago on Saturday. These proposals were put forward by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA)

Elevated roads will be built in Jhotwara and Malviya Nagar JDA has proposed a plan to build an elevated road near Jagatpura ROB. It will be constructed crossing Apex Circle via Balaji Tiraha. An estimated cost of around 130 crore rupees is projected for this elevated road.

There is heavy traffic from Apex Circle to Jagatpura ROB in the morning and evening. With the increasing population in the Jagatpura area, those going to Shivdaspura-Bilwa via Mahal Road also pass through here. Due to this, there is a tremendous traffic jam at Balaji Tiraha and Apex Circle.

Due to the reduced width of the road and increased traffic from Jhotwara ROB to Dadi Ka Phatak ROB, there is a plan to construct an elevated road. It is estimated to cost around 65 crore rupees. The work to prepare the DPR for both these ROBs will be started soon.

Considering the traffic jam at the OTS intersection on JLN Road, the previous Gehlot government had prepared a plan to make this intersection signal-free by constructing a flyover (cable bridge) and a rotary.

After preparing its DPR, tenders were also issued. This project was approximately 150 crore rupees at that time. Later, the tender process was halted.

Now, under the BJP government, a plan is being prepared again to construct a flyover at this location. A proposal has been made to construct the flyover at a cost of approximately 80 crore rupees.
