Mines Department collected record revenue of Rs 7963 crore with 24% growth

Principal Secretary Mines and Geology T. Ravikant has said that in view of the end of the financial year, the focus of the department is to collect as much revenue as possible. For this, revenue collection will be monitored on a daily basis. He said that the Mines Department has created a new record of revenue earning by depositing revenue of more than Rs 7963 crore in the treasury with a growth rate of 24 percent till March 3. He said that the department will move forward towards new goals and create a new record of revenue collection.


Principal Secretary Mines and Geology T. Ravikant was holding a meeting of Director Mines Deepak Tanwar, JS Mines Ashu Chaudhary and senior officials of the department in Khanij Bhawan on Tuesday. He said that the Mines Department is the major revenue earning department of the state government. In such a situation, the officials were instructed that any kind of negligence in revenue collection will not be tolerated. At the same time, all the possible areas of revenue earning should be identified and effective efforts should be made for recovery. Additional Directors of Mines Department will analyse the revenue collection data daily and will provide necessary guidance by coordinating with the concerned subordinate officers.


T. Ravikant said that a committee of senior officers has been formed for pending cases of courts worth more than 10 crores. This committee will study on merits and demerits and ensure action.


Similarly, ensure amnesty, pending assessment, amount payable after auction, recovery from RCC-ERCC contracts. He said that no kind of loss in state revenue will be tolerated. He gave instructions to take effective action against illegal mining activities. He gave instructions to send timely answers to assembly questions, organize departmental promotion committee meeting, upload Form 2 on Parivesh portal in pending cases for obtaining environmental clearance from state level for mines which have received environmental clearance from district level, and timely execution of pending cases.


Director Mines Deepak Tanwar said that the department has collected revenue of more than Rs 500 crore as compared to last financial year. Compared to the same period, Rs 1500 crore more revenue has been earned. He assured that as per the intention of the state government, the department will make efforts to collect maximum revenue. He said that while monitoring revenue collection daily, action will be ensured by identifying potential areas.


Joint Secretary Mines Ashu Chaudhary said that the state government expects more revenue collection from the Mines Department, so we will have to make comprehensive efforts. Additional Director Headquarters Mahesh Mathur said that all potential areas of revenue collection will be identified and action will be taken.


Additional Director MP Meena, Y S Sahwal, SME Pratap Meena, Bhim Singh, Kamleshwar Baregaama, Avinash Kuldeep, Additional Director Geology Gopal Ram, OSD Shri Krishna Sharma, Superintendent Geologist Secretariat Sunil Kumar Verma, Senior Geologist Beading Cell Rajkumar Meena, Accountant Anil Jain and other senior officials participated in the meeting.
