On the occasion of Naturopathy Day, a National Seminar was organized by the Surya Foundation and the International Naturopathy Organization

On the occasion of Naturopathy Day, a National Conference was organized by Surya Foundation and International Naturopathy Organization (INO) in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India on 18 Nov 2024 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

In this Conference more than 3,000 yoga and naturopathy experts participated from India. There was a major demand for the implementation of the National Commission for Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Bill 2023.

The Conference was inaugurated by Union Minister of Law & Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri J.P. Nadda, and AYUSH Minister, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, attended the event virtually.

On this occasion, Law Minister Meghwal stated that if there is any possibility of getting through the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Bill in Parliament that is our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who makes the impossible to possible. Citing the example of the Women’s Reservation Bill, he explained that it was too stuck, faced numerous obstacles, but was successfully got passed in Parliament, creating a history. He assured that concerted efforts will be made to get passed the Yoga Naturopathy Bill, which is also facing obstacles. Our Prime Minister living his life with five natural elements. It is said that “Modi hai to Mumkin Hai”. So getting passed the Yog Naturopathy Bill is also Mumkin.

While addressing the session virtually, Shri J.P. Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, stated that Surya Foundation and INO have played a significant role in promoting yoga and naturopathy. He emphasized that the Government of India is constantly working towards the development and research of traditional medical practices. He extended a warm welcome and expressed his gratitude to the yoga and naturopathy representatives who have arrived from across the country to participate in the Conference.

On this occasion, AYUSH Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav, virtually said that Mahatma Gandhi followed naturopathy to maintain his health. He further stated that 78 years ago, on this very day in 1946, Gandhi ji established All India Nature Cure Foundation Trust in Pune with the aim of spreading the knowledge and benefits of naturopathy to every household. He expressed his delight that a 250-bed hospital, named Nisarg Gram, has been built at the same location in Pune and has been inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister.He said that INO has provided several proposals of naturopathy on which the ministry is actively workingand assured that the outcome of these efforts would soon be visible. He urged the organisers thatwhatever the resolution to be passed in this National Conference, must be sent to him.He assured that he will consider all proposals and will try to implement them.

On this occasion, Padmashri Jaiprakash Agarwal, Chairman of Surya Foundation and INO, congratulated all the naturopathy followers who have come from across the country. He emphasized that every doctor practicing naturopathy must first adopt these practices in their own life before offering health benefits to their patients. He further advised that every naturopathy practitioner should incorporate therapies like hydrotherapy, fasting, mud therapy and a fruit-based diet at least once a week into their daily life.

At this National Conference,Dr. Anant Biradar, National President of INO, emphasized the importance of topic of The Contribution of Naturopathyin Viksit Bharat 2047. He suggested that suggestions from all stakeholdersmust be taken into consideration for implementation of National Commission for Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Bill2023. He stressed that the registration of all naturopathy doctors and resumption of grant in aid for naturopathy and yoga hospitals.He also demanded the inclusion of yoga and naturopathy system under the Ayushman Bharat scheme to make these benefits accessible to people from all walks of life.

Acharya Lokesh Muni also present at this Conference. In his blessings, he stated that naturopathy is a drugless therapy for achieving holistic health benefits. He emphasized the need to produce more and more naturopathy doctors to extend health benefits to a larger number of people.

Member of Parliament Bhola Singh stated that whatever resolutions are passed in this conference, we will extend our full support to ensure their implementation.

In this conference, Jagatguru Shri ShriVachnanandaSwami of the PanchamshaliPeeth, Karnataka said that as on today, Ayurveda is considered as High Court whereas Allopathy is considered as Supreme Court. Even though Naturopathy has gained such widespread acceptance in 106 countries. Mahatma Gandhi and Vinoba Bhave followed Naturopathy so as Padamshri Jaiprakash Ji is spreading Naturopathy across the country.
