Private hospital operators in the state have almost stopped providing cashless treatment to patients under RGHS and Chiranjeevi Yojana.
MoUs have been signed with about 1200 private hospitals in the state for cashless treatment under RGHS and Chiranjeevi Yojana. In the capital, 250-300 private hospitals are associated with RGHS and 600-700 private hospitals are associated with Chiranjeevi Yojana for the treatment of government employees and pensioners. Since October, with the imposition of election code of conduct in the state, patients are facing hurdles in getting treatment under both the schemes.
Jaipur’s private hospital associated with Chiranjeevi Yojana has almost completely stopped treatment as soon as the government changed. Behind this, Private Hospital and Nursing Homes Society says that there are three reasons behind stopping the treatment. First, payment of Rs 400 crore to private hospitals is stuck. Secondly, with the change of government in the state, there is doubt among private hospital operators whether both the schemes will continue in future or not. The system is faulty from bottom to top in releasing the third payment.
