Pushkar, November 16, 2024.
Deputy chief minister and district in-charge minister Diya Kumari announced that Pushkar will be developed along the lines of Ayodhya and Kashi.
Highlighting the importance of the International Camel Pushkar Fair, she said the central and state govts would collaborate to organise it annually with grandeur, aiming to place Pushkar firmly on the international tourism map.
Speaking on Thursday at the closing ceremony of fair, Kumari underlined Pushkar’s unique global identity as the city of Lord Brahma, a revered centre of faith for millions. “The state govt is committed to developing Pushkar systematically, with a well-planned approach like Ayodhya and Kashi. A comprehensive blueprint will be prepared and implemented,” she said. This year’s fair witnessed the participation of over 600,000 domestic and international tourists and devotees. “For the first time since 2019, such a large number of devotees attended the fair,” she said, adding that more than 20,000 foreign tourists were among the visitors.
“The fair will continue to be organised annually with grandeur, enhancing its appeal from both a tourism and religious perspective,” she said. Kumari also lauded the arrangements made to ensure tourists and devotees received adequate facilities.
