Rajasthan CM visits FlixBus HQ, discusses investment, job creation, digital empowerment of bus operators

Global travel-tech leader FlixBussigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan during the visit of Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan to FlixBus headquarters in Munich, Germany. This agreement signals a strong commitment from both sides to bring long-term benefits to the state by improving bus-transport infrastructure, creating jobs and empowering local bus operators with world-class technology.

During his visit, the Chief Ministerhad a detailed discussion withthe global leadership team of FlixBus, including Mr. André Schwämmlein, Co-Founder & CEO and Mr. Max Zeumer, Chief Operating Officer. The discussion focused on the role being played by FlixBusin expanding access to affordableand sustainable bus transport in Rajasthan and the support that can be extended to the travel-tech sector by the Government of Rajasthan to unlock the state’s potential as one of the top foreign investment and tourism destinations.

As part of this MoU, FlixBushas committed a significant investment in the state of Rajasthan which will lead to both direct and indirect job creation. FlixBushas requested closer cooperation on developing bus terminal infrastructure across the state. This will allow FlixBusto reduce congestion, retain their global service standards, and enhance the overall passenger experience.

Commenting on the meeting, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, said, “Our partnership with Flix Bus has been strengthened by the MoU signed with Flix Bus.The Government of Rajasthan will work with FlixBus as a partner to develop bus transport infrastructure including bus-stands and bus-ports.”

FlixBus currently operates nine buses in Rajasthan, connecting major routes that include Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Jodhpur, Jaipur-Ayodhya, and Jaipur-Dehradun. Within nine months of its launch in India, the company is working towards expanding its inter-city bus network to additional cities across the state of Rajasthan.

FlixBus currently connects 100+ cities and 200+ in India, operating 76 buses across 29 lines in both North and South India. FlixBus is committed to safety and quality, utilizing standardized BS6 buses that meet strict emission norms and include advanced safety features such as anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and 2-point seat belts for all seats.
