Rajasthan tourism will witness unprecedented growth; Karan Rathore Vice Chairman SEPC

The third edition of Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart was jointly organized by the Department of Tourism and the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism in Rajasthan (FHTR) is a magnificent step to support the growth our tourism and Hospitality sector post-pandemic. The event was held in Jaipur, from July 14 to 16.

The year 2022 witnessed around 10.87 crore tourists in Rajasthan as compared to 2.20 crore in 2021. This massive increase in inbound tourism is a great win for the tourism and hospitality sector in Rajasthan. The mart was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Vishvendra Singh at Rajasthan International Centre.

Speaking on responsible tourism and the need to adopt sustainable outlook on tourism, Mr Karan Rathore, Vice Chairman, SEPC shared “As one of the favourite travel destinations, Rajasthan has immense potential. The way forward is to nudge the industry towards practices like responsible tourism and adoption of best practices for sustainability. This mart is a great collaborative space to map out issues like sustainability in tourism, holistic development while preserving our heritage, sustainability in heritage and culture based tourism, tourism for rural resurgence as an industry. Rajasthan is a great case study for the contribution of tourism to economy and this event will bring together opportunities to witness further growth”, shared Mr Karan Rathore, Vice Chairman, Services Export Promotion Council set up the ministry of commerce and industry.

The mart hosted more than 200 exhibitors from Rajasthan. Over 7000 B2B structured meetings between buyers and sellers were organised including stakeholders from motels, resorts, hotels, heritage properties, amusement parks etc.
