Sunny Deol announces ‘Border 2’, back as ‘fauji’ after 27 years

Actor Sunny Deol announced ‘Border 2’ on Thursday, June 13. He shared the film’s announcement video on social media. ‘Border 2’ is a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 film ‘Border’. It was released in theatres on June 13, 1997.

In the video, he says, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai (Twenty-seven years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, to salute the soil of India, he is coming).”

The announcement video describes ‘Border 2’ as “India’s biggest war film.” Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam’s ‘Sandese Aaate Hain’ plays in the background of the video.

Border 2 will be directed by Anurag Singh. He has earlier directed films like Dil Bole Hadippa!, Jatt & Juliet, Punjab 1984, and Kesari. The makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast of the film.
