Mumbai Indians’ under Hardik Pandya faces its first hurdle of the eighteenth season even before the start of the competition, with the captain set to miss Sunday’s opener against Chennai Super Kings due to a carried-over suspension.
Suryakumar Yadav will don the captain’s armband for the crucial first match, stepping in for Pandya who was suspended for slow over-rate in the previous IPL season. “Suryakumar leads India as well. He will lead Mumbai Indians in the first match,” Pandya confirmed at Wednesday’s press conference.
